Susan Barnes is a travel writer, editor and photographer. A proud Army brat, she was born on a military base in Belgium and has been on the go ever since.

After graduating from Missouri State University in Springfield, Susan moved to Orlando for her first taste of the working world. From there, she headed to Washington, D.C. for several years, and now makes Tampa her home with her husband and miniature schnauzer.

While Susan has traveled across the United States, she has managed to visit such European cultural hot spots as Paris, London and Ireland, and has even explored the second largest reef in the world off the coast of Belize and the cloud forest of Venezuela, among many other exotic locales.

Susan Barnes contributes monthly to the Tampa City Guides section of AirTran Airlines’ inflight magazine, GO (1.5 million readership), as well as occasional features and has recently contributed to duPont Registry Luxury Living in Tampa Bay (circ. 30,000), AARP.org (1.3 million hits a day), Denver Life (circ. 37,000), Healing Lifestyles & Spas (circ. 55,000), My Midwest Magazine (1 million readership) and Pelco Press, a corporate publication (40,000 readership).
